Kramer Law Office, Inc. was founded by Melody A. Kramer, committed to excellence in client advocacy, and the legal profession as a whole.
Melody A. Kramer is a graduate of the University of Nebraska, College of Law in Lincoln, Nebraska, and was awarded The Order of Barristers for excellence in the art of courtroom advocacy. Since that time, Ms. Kramer has been honing her craft as an advocate for her clients throughout the country. She began as a Deputy Public Defendant in rural Nebraska, Special Prosecutor for Crimes Against Children, and later started her own law firm in Lincoln, Nebraska. Never deterred by seeming impossibilities, she took on challenging, sometimes seemingly unwinnable cases, with a marked level of success, including successfully prosecuting criminal cases and increasing real jail time served by offenders. In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Kramer was actively involved with the Nebraska State Bar Association, including working on the Ethics Committee and the Judiciary Committee, the Sale of Law Practice Subcommittee, Gender/Bias Subcommittee, and the Bench/Bar Conference Program Committees.
In 1999, Ms. Kramer returned to California and turned her focus to general civil litigation. She has handled a diverse caseload in state and federal courts including patent infringement litigation, all types of business disputes, construction law, personal injury (plaintiff and defense), and transactional work. She is capable of taking on diverse litigation projects because of her history of strategic partnerships with other lawyers and law firms working in concert to obtain the best results for her clients.
Ms. Kramer co-authored two criminal prosecution manuals for the Nebraska County Attorney’s Association – Nebraska Prosecutor’s Deskbook, 3rd Edition (published in 1996) and The Prosecutor’s Traffic Manual, 3rd Edition (published in 1994). She is in the process of writing a new book that will be an exposé on the nature of the legal profession. She is also a blogger on several legal and small business blogs.
Ms. Kramer has also been a vocal advocate for freelance legal professionals, co-founding the National Association of Freelance Legal Professionals, and founding FreelanceLaw.com, a confidential, qualification-searchable database of freelance legal professionals accessible only to licensed attorneys.
Ms. Kramer is admitted to practice in United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and Eighth Circuit, United States District Courts for the Districts of Southern, Central, and Northern California, and Nebraska and been admitted pro hac vice in many other courts. She is also admitted to the California State Bar and is an inactive member of the Nebraska Bar Association. She has also been admitted to the Omaha Tribal Court.
